This is the original Krishnashtakam written by Sri Shankara Bhagavatpada, this stotram does not begin with “Vasudeva-sutam devam” ‘The son of Vasudeva, the god who crushed Kaṁsa and Cāṇūra. I worship Krishna, the supreme bliss of Devakī, the Guru of the universe’ is a Sanskrit verse. Which in Hindi means that “ I salute Sri Krishna, the son of Vasudeva, the crusher of Kansa, Chanur, the giver of bliss to Devakī and the Lord of the entire world.” And this Shankara Granthavali contains the stotra-granthas of the Acharya in volumes 17 and 18.
